Gestione dei cookie

Below, we provide transparent information about the operation of so-called Cookies on this website (hereinafter referred to as the "Site").

Definition of "Cookies."

Cookies are short pieces of text (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (the browser, e.g., Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Opera...) to be reused during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or later, even days later (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, based on user preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).

Similar technologies, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs, and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information about user behavior and the use of services.

A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user's hard drive, transmit computer viruses, or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user's web browser. Some of the functions of Cookies may be delegated to other technologies. The term 'Cookies' refers to both Cookies and all similar technologies.

Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, various types of cookies can be distinguished:

  • Technical Cookies (strictly necessary): These are cookies essential for the proper functioning of a website, used to manage various services related to websites (such as login or access to reserved functions on websites). The duration of these cookies is strictly limited to the session or they can have a longer lifespan to remember the visitor's choices. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect the user's experience and navigation on the website.
  • Analytics and Performance Cookies: These cookies are used to anonymously collect and analyze traffic and usage of a website. These cookies, while not identifying the user, can, for example, detect if the same user reconnects at different times. They also help monitor the system and improve its performance and usability. Disabling these cookies can be done without any loss of functionality and will be discussed in more detail later.
  • Profiling Cookies: These are permanent cookies used to identify (anonymously and non-anonymously) user preferences and improve their browsing experience. During navigation on a website, the user may also receive cookies on their terminal that are sent from other websites or web servers (so-called "third parties"), which may contain certain elements (e.g., images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages on other domains).

For more information on these cookies, not used by the Website, please visit the dedicated section on the website https://www.garanteprivacy.it/cookie.

Purposes of Processing and Purposes of Session Technical Cookies.

The technical cookies used on the Site have the sole purpose of performing computer authentication or monitoring sessions and storing specific technical information regarding users who access the servers managed by the data controller that operates the Site. In this regard, some operations on the Site could not be performed without the use of cookies, which in such cases are therefore technically necessary. For example, access to any reserved areas of the Site and the activities that can be carried out there would be much more complex and less secure without the presence of cookies that allow the user to be identified and maintained in the context of the session.

In order to achieve proper regulation of these devices, it is necessary to distinguish them, since there are no technical characteristics that differentiate them from each other based on the purposes pursued by those who use them. In this direction, the legislator himself moved, implementing the provisions contained in Directive 2009/136/EC, and brought back the obligation to obtain the prior and informed consent of users to the installation of cookies used for purposes other than purely technical ones (cf. art. 1, para. 5, letter a), Legislative Decree no. 69 of May 28, 2012, amending art. 122 of the Code). Among other things, the same European body that brings together all the supervisory authorities for the protection of privacy in the various Member States (the so-called "Article 29 Working Party") clarified in Opinion 4/2012 (WP194) entitled "Exemption from Consent for the Use of Cookies" that there are cookies for which it is not necessary to obtain the prior and informed consent of the user:

  1. Cookies with data filled in by the user (session identifier), with a duration of a session or persistent cookies limited to a few hours in some cases;
  2. Authentication cookies, used for authenticated services, with a session duration;
  3. User-focused security cookies used to detect authentication abuses, with limited persistent duration;
  4. Session cookies for multimedia players, such as "flash" player cookies, with a session duration;
  5. Session cookies for load balancing, with a session duration;
  6. Persistent cookies for user interface customization, with a session duration (or slightly longer);
  7. Session cookies for sharing content through third-party social plug-ins for members of a social network who have logged in.

The data controller therefore informs that only technical cookies are operational on the Site (such as those listed above) necessary for browsing within the Site, as they allow essential functions such as authentication, validation, session management, and fraud prevention, and allow, for example, to identify whether the user has correctly accessed the areas of the site that require prior authentication or user validation, and session management for various services and applications or secure data storage or control and fraud prevention functions.

For maximum transparency, here are some examples of technical cookies and specific operating cases on the Site:

  • Cookies implanted in the user/contractor's terminal directly (which will not be used for other purposes), such as session cookies used to "fill the cart" in online reservations on the Site, authentication cookies, multimedia content cookies like flash players that do not exceed the duration of the session, customization cookies (e.g., for choosing the navigation language, ID recall, and password completion with the typing of the first characters, etc.);
  • Cookies used for statistical analysis of access/visits to the site (so-called "analytics" cookies) that pursue exclusively statistical purposes (and not also profiling or marketing purposes) and collect information in aggregate form without the possibility of identifying the individual user. In these cases, since current regulations require that clear and adequate indications be provided to the data subject regarding simple mechanisms for opposing (opt-out) the installation of analytics cookies (including any mechanisms for anonymizing the cookies themselves), we specify that it is possible to disable analytics cookies as follows: open your browser, select the settings menu, click on Internet options, open the privacy tab, and choose the desired level of cookie blocking. If you want to delete cookies already saved in memory, simply open the security tab and delete the history by checking the "delete cookies" box.

Third-Party Cookies.

When visiting a website, you may receive cookies from websites operated by other organizations ("third parties") that may reside in Italy or abroad.

An example found on most websites is the presence of YouTube videos, Google APIs, the use of Google Maps, and the use of "social plugins" for Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by these websites and integrated into the page of the hosting site. The most common use of social plugins is to share content on social networks in order to enhance the visitor's user experience.

The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all third-party managed sites. The management of information collected by "third parties" is governed by their respective information to which reference should be made. To ensure greater transparency and convenience, the following are the web addresses of the various information and the methods for managing cookies, specifying that the data controller is not responsible for the operation of third-party cookies on this Site.

You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is sent. Each browser is different, so click on the "HELP" menu in your browser to understand how to change your cookie preferences. For example, in Microsoft Internet Explorer, you can disable or delete cookies by selecting "Tools/Internet Options" and changing the privacy settings or by selecting "delete cookies." Please note, however, that this site has been structured to use cookies, and any deactivation of them may affect the site's functionality and prevent the best use of the site itself.

Responsibility for the Operation of Third-Party Cookies.

With regard to the General Provision of the Privacy Guarantor on Cookies of May 8, 2014, it is recalled in this regard: "There are multiple reasons why it is not possible to require the publisher to provide information and obtain consent for the installation of cookies on their own website, even for those installed by 'third parties.' First of all, the publisher should always have the tools and the economic-legal capacity to assume the obligations of third parties and should therefore also be able to verify the correspondence between what is declared by third parties and the purposes actually pursued by those who use cookies. This is made particularly difficult by the fact that the publisher often does not directly know all the third parties that install cookies through their own website and, therefore, neither the logic underlying the processing. Moreover, there are often intermediaries between the publisher and the third parties who act as dealers, making it very complex for the publisher to control the activities of all the parties involved. Third-party cookies could also be modified over time by third-party providers, and it would be impractical to ask publishers to keep track of these subsequent changes."

As indicated by the Privacy Guarantor, this Site does not have the possibility to control third-party cookies if it uses third-party services (YouTube, Google Maps, "social buttons") for which third parties are solely responsible. Furthermore, it is recalled that users can delete and block the operation of cookies at any time, also using browser plugins and changing their settings as indicated in the various manuals contained in the browsers.

Mandatory or Optional Consent for the Operation of Cookies that do not pursue Marketing Purposes.

It is not mandatory to obtain consent for the operation of technical cookies or third-party or analytical cookies that are assimilated to technical cookies. Disabling them and/or refusing their operation will make it impossible to navigate the Site correctly and/or make use of the services, pages, functions, or contents available there.
